About AllergenKit
AllergenKit turns UK allergen rules into paperwork a busy kitchen can actually keep up with — matrices, PPDS labels, QR menus and inspection records that stay in step with each other.
What it is
Two things. The free tools — an allergen matrix builder, printable charts and posters — work with no account and keep your data in your browser. AllergenKit Pro (£9/month after a 7-day free trial) adds the part that saves real time: you enter each ingredient once, and your Natasha's Law labels, allergen matrix, QR allergen menu and inspection-ready records pack all update together. Change the mayonnaise, and every label that uses it changes too.
Why it exists
Since Natasha's Law in 2021, even the smallest food businesses carry real documentation duties — and the gap has never been willingness, it's admin time. Most software that handles this properly is built for chains and priced like it. AllergenKit is the opposite bet: one fair monthly price, no contract, no sales calls, built for the café, bakery, deli or home baker doing this at the end of a long day.
Who's behind it
AllergenKit is built and run by Common Measure, a UK sole-trader software studio. Proprietor and contact details are available on request — email [email protected] and a human (not a ticket system) reads and answers it.
Where responsibility sits
We're careful about this, because it matters: AllergenKit provides the format — the matrices, labels and registers laid out the way UK rules expect. It does not and cannot know what's in your food. The allergen facts are yours, checking supplier labels on every reorder is yours, and compliance with food law stays with your business. The terms say this plainly, and every printable we produce reminds you of it.
The quiet parts
- No cookies, no trackers — just anonymous usage counters. The free tools never upload your data at all.
- Your account data lives in a UK-region (London) database, and payments are handled by Stripe — card details never touch our servers.
- No card for the trial, cancel anytime — and your records are always yours to print or export, even if you stop subscribing.
- Founding-member pricing: the price you join at is the price you keep.
