What happens during the free trial?
You get 7 days to try Pro, with no card needed. Create a menu, reuse items and try your own print style. If you choose to keep using Pro afterwards, it’s £9/month.
Do I need to enter every ingredient first?
No. You can create a menu by entering item names and the allergen facts you’ve checked. The ingredients-and-recipes workspace is there separately when you want to make ingredient labels.
Can I bring my free matrix into Pro?
Yes. Start the trial from the free matrix builder and follow its email sign-in link in the same browser within 24 hours. Your named items and allergen states carry over to a menu for you to review. Your free browser copy stays in place.
Do I legally need an allergen matrix?
A matrix is one useful way to organise written allergen information for non-prepacked food; the matrix itself is not a separate legal requirement. Keep the information accurate and available to customers. See the FSA’s written-information guidance, and check our PPDS guide for food that needs ingredient labels.
What counts as PPDS food?
Food packaged before it is selected or ordered, on the premises from which it is then offered to customers by the same business, can be PPDS. The same business packing elsewhere for its market stall or mobile outlet can also qualify. Food packed after ordering is non-prepacked; supply to another business and distance sales need separate checks. See the PPDS scenarios and official guidance.
Where does my data live?
The free matrix builder saves its draft in your browser. Pro accounts store saved menus and recipes so you can access them from another device and export your records. See our privacy policy for analytics, session replay and account deletion details.
Does AllergenKit tell me which allergens are in my food?
No — and be wary of anything that claims to. You confirm every allergen from your own ingredient labels and supplier specs.
